White Otter Falls

The main characteristics of the facility are :

• The powerhouse, intake (50 m) and tailrace canal (75m) are located on the left bank of the river.
• The overflow weir is 120 m in length, and is comprised of two 45-m long rubber dams. The concrete base of the weir varies from 0,5 to 1 m in height, and is topped with a 2.0-m diameter rubber dam.
• An approximately 6.5 km long head pond that covers an additional surface area of 23 ha. Normal operating level is 241.20 m.
• The powerhouse is equipped with two S-Shape turbines, each with a capacity of 2.75 MW.
