natural gasenergy with a future

Natural gas is a controllable energy source that can support the electrical grid during peak energy consumption. A natural gas turbine can start up in a few minutes and offer its energy capacity to stabilize and preserve the network when necessary.

It is an energy transition solution because it is temporary. It is only relevant to bridge the gap between now and when we have enough renewable energies and more ecological storage capacities to maintain the electrical network.

OUR COCHRANE AND GRANBY POWER PLANTS ARE HELPING TO PROVIDE STABILITY TO THE ELECTRICAL GRID. ONE WITH NATURAL GAS AND THE OTHER WITH BIOGAS HARVESTED FROM A NEARBY LANDFILL.

Distributed GasA TRANSITIONAL ENERGY

From natural gas to renewable natural gas and from biogas to renewable natural gas.

Natural gas is renewable when it comes from a renewable source such as organic material (landfill), such as biogas. Biogas needs to be filtered and concentrated to become renewable natural gas.

The combustion of biogas offers a saving in greenhouse gas emissions because it comes from methane captured before its dissipation into the atmosphere (landfill). However, methane is 25 times more harmful to the climate than CO2. Its combustion thus makes it possible to have a virtuous carbon balance (carbo-negative).
