Project Sainte-Marguerite 1
The Sainte-Marguerite -1 generating station is located on the first waterfall of the Ste-Marguerite River, 25 km west of Sept-Iles. At the beginning of the 20th century, this site had been equipped to produce the mechanical force needed to manufacture Pulp.
Gulf Pulp and Paper, the owner of the plant, abandoned its operations in 1967. Hydroméga acquired the facilities and the hydroelectric production rights in 1989. An entirely new plant was built from April 1992 to October 1993 at the foot of the dam existing.
* This site was developed and produced by Hydromega Services inc. It is no longer owned by the company.
